Oktoberfest – October 22nd
3:00pm - 6:00pm
Town Square

Oktoberfest returns to the community on Saturday, October 22. Join your neighbors in the Town Square for food, music and German cheer. Traditional German foods, including Bratwurst, sauerkraut, warm potato salad and hot pretzels will be served.. An Oompah Band will lead the crowd in familiar tunes while neighbors enjoy a crisp fall afternoon amongst friends. Beer will be served in the San Elijo Hills Beer Garden. A special thank you goes to the San Elijo Hills Development Company for their generous donation that will fund this year’s beer garden.

Recycling Plant Update

So…what happened to World Motoplex? The bottom line for now is that World Motoplex has pulled out of escrow. The current owners of the property are again pursuing the idea of a movie studio. So, we’ll see what happens next. Meanwhile, as a concerned resident, it’s important to keep current on the status of this property.

The North County Times has been following the story pretty well. The most recent article was on Sept. 19:[Article]. Just search for ‘recycling plant’ at www.nctimes.com to follow the related articles.

Movie studio…motocross…or who knows what…we as residents do have a very strong voice and a great opportunity to influence the direction this property will take. Start listening and start talking! Stay involved and keep talking to your neighbors. Your ideas and your opinions do matter! We have a very unique opportunity to influence the future of this area by paying attention and getting involved. Keep your eyes and ears open. Also, there is ongoing discussion on the Community Network at www.sanelijohills.net. Join in!
